Our Infamous Day at the Lake

It all started as what looked like would be a wonderful day at the lake. Caro and the kids were here, the lake was glass, and NO ONE was on it(because it was really low and you had to launch at your own risk - not to mention it was a little bit overcast). But we were excited non the less, to tap some of that glass! Well, it didn't all go as planned. First Alan jumped in the water with cell phone in pocket (again!), second the boat was dead and . . . we didn't have jumper cables! When we finally got the boat launched the water was unreal. Alan and Ben had a great time skiing and wake boarding, and Summer and Mackenzie knee boarded. Then as we were enjoying the lake and about to let the kids on the tubes we heard a loud noise (can't remember what it sounded like, but it was ugly) and we started to smell oil. Well, it turns out that there was a huge whole blown in the top of our outdrive(no idea what that is, but I actually saw the whole)! So there we are on the lake, down by the damn, and remember I said there was NO ONE on the lake? Yeah, well there was still no one on the lake and every single one of the four adults on the boat had left their cell phones in the car, except for Alan's which I mentioned was wet! So Alan and Ben started to row us back to shore. We got about ten yards and realized we would never make it. Just when it seemed like I might give birth right there (I was due in 6 days), we heard the sound of a boat in the distance and we were saved!! The kids still talk about the day at the lake when we were saved.

Hey...love the drama! Can I ask just one question? How long has it been since you took an English class? A "whole" in the outdrive hugh? You actually saw the "whole"? The whole what?

It's the "whole" darn thing! That was one of the funniest days I've ever had. Elisa, you hit it right on the money. That was a great day!
